and Security Policy
We recognize
the importance of protecting
the personal information
you provide via fax, telephone,
in-person or at the Placer
County Association of REALTORS®’
web sites. We maintain the
following privacy policy:
1. We gather the following
types of information needed
to process your transactions,
fulfill your requests, and
maintain our membership
records:
a. Contact information you
provide (for example; your
personal and business addresses,
phone and fax numbers, email
address, firm affiliations,
license numbers, etc.)
b. Information you volunteer
via applications or surveys
(for example; education,
designations, specialties,
affiliations with other
real estate organizations
and general demographic
data.)
2. We use this information
to:
a. Improve and customize
the services provided to
our membership.
b. Improve the content and
layout of our websites and
other communications tools,
such as our weekly e-Update.
c. Notify you of updates
to our site.
d. Notify you of relevant
products and services.
e. Notify you of upcoming
events and programs.
f. Compile our annual membership
directory.
g. Track usage of our sites
3. The Association maintains
your email address within
your membership record in
order to:
a. Communicate effectively
with you via weekly e-updates
b. Notify you via special
alerts
c. Your email address is
transmitted to N.A.R. and
C.A.R. along with your other
required contact information.
PCAR does not otherwise
share, sell or trade e-mail
addresses.
4. We will not share, sell
or otherwise provide other
information about you to
third parties, except for:
a. When required by law
or valid legal process,
or to protect the personal
safety of our members or
the public.
b. Members office mailing
data (no email addresses)
may be sold only to other
members of PCAR for their
marketing purposes.
c. Sale or other transfer
of PCAR or its assets.
5. Credit information that
you and credit authorizers
provide when you make payments
by credit card or electronic
check for products, dues
or other services via the
REALTOR® Electronic
Commerce Network (“E-Commerce
Network”) or via our
in-house credit card processing
systems will only be used
to process the transactions
you request. This information
will be provided to and
maintained by reputable
credit reporting databases,
but will never be sold,
shared or provided to other
third parties.
6. We maintain security
procedures and standards
which we believe are reasonably
designed to protect the
confidentiality of your
personal information.
7. We utilize a strict
Opt-Out policy for sending
online notifications regarding
services, products and programs.
a. To be removed from our
weekly e-Updates, just click
on the “unsubscribe”
link on the bottom of any
e-Update and send the email
that gets generated, or
contact PCAR in writing
with your request to be
removed.
8. You may edit your personal
contact information directly
in NRDS (the National REALTOR®
Database System maintained
by N.A.R.) or in the PCAR
membership system by entering
your login and password
to access your individual
record on our website or
by contacting PCAR.
9. We do not collect information
from children under the
age of 13.
10. Some of our sites contain
advertising placed by advertisers
or advertising networks
pursuant to agreements between
PCAR and the advertiser
or advertising network.
We do not control these
advertisers or advertising
networks, the sites of third
parties reached through
links on our site or their
information collection practices
and PCAR will not be responsible
for the activities of these
third parties. The advertiser
or advertising network may
use cookies to collect certain
non-personally identifiable
information when you click
on the banner ads appearing
on our sites. This information
is collected by the advertiser
or advertising network for
purposes of measuring and
reporting on the advertising
to advertisers and PCAR.
The advertiser or advertising
network may also aggregate
the information for certain
other statistical and reporting
purposes.
11. California Privacy Rights.
If you are a California
resident, you have the right
to request information from
PCAR regarding the manner
in which PCAR shares certain
categories of your personal
information with third parties,
for the third parties' direct
marketing purposes. California
law provides that you have
the right to submit a request
to PCAR at its designated
address and receive the
following information: the
categories of information
PCAR disclosed to third
parties for the third parties'
direct marketing purposes
during the preceding calendar
year; the names and addresses
of third parties that received
such information; and if
the nature of a third party's
business cannot be reasonably
determined from the third
party's name, examples of
the products or services
marketed. You are entitled
to receive a copy of this
information in a standardized
format and the information
will not be specific to
you individually. PCAR's
designated email address
for such requests is info@pcaor.com.
12. This policy is subject
to change and the changes
will become effective immediately.
If there are material changes
to this policy, we will
provide notice of the changes
by posting the amended policy
on this site and by revising
the effective date of the
Privacy Policy textual link
appearing at the bottom
of the page. Your use of
the site after the revised
policy is posted signifies
your acceptance of and agreement
to the revised policy.
